Account Executive

At Tomahawk, we go beyond campaigns; we create strategies that connect tourism brands with travellers worldwide. We’re looking for an enthusiastic Account Executive to join our client engagement team based in Auckland to support them with your amazing organisational skills, and to help turn client briefs into smart, results-focused plans that maximise growth and deliver real impact. Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate and co-ordinate across the internal team to support the delivery of client work
  • Build strong client relationships, maintaining a deep understanding of customer goals, needs, and challenges
  • Translate client briefs into clear plans, ensuring timely and successful delivery of campaigns and services
  • Identify growth opportunities within existing accounts, supporting retention, renewals, and upsell activity
  • Monitor performance, analyse results, and communicate insights through regular reporting and presentations
  • Support onboarding and ongoing optimisation of client activity, including content quality and platform usage
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, track key metrics, and contribute to continuous improvement across processes 

Key Skills & Proficiencies

  • Organisation skills: a key part of this role will be to co-ordinate tasks for internal teams, email support, client documentation and reporting. You will need to create order and calm with solid time management
  • Interpersonal skills for building internal and external relationships, demonstrated ability to communicate and present well
  • Some experience in delivering client-focused solutions based on customer needs
  • Good listening, verbal, written and presentation skills  
  • Critical thinking and good problem-solving skills 
  • Understanding of website development, marketing, measurement and analytics, content management, digital/social marketing and, internet and new technology    
  • Keen attention to detail and adherence to deadlines

"Over 5 years ago, I started at Tomahawk with no prior tourism, marketing or website experience, entering into the Account Executive position. This role was the perfect entry point for me, as it's an extremely varied and dynamic position, exposing me early on to all aspects of digital and the tourism industry, as well as working closely with all internal teams and our clients. This created a pivotal stepping stone for my career over the next few years, naturally paving the way to become an Account Manager with my own client portfolio, before deciding to specialise, moving into my role in the Digital Performance team.
